Model kit packaging for Luftwaffe Pilot and Officer Air Crew Series by Replikator Model Corporation.

Capture a candid moment of camaraderie between sorties with this 1/32 scale 3D printed figure set. Part of the Replikator Model Corp Air Crew Series, this kit depicts two Luftwaffe pilots—one fresh from a mission and one in service dress—debriefing on the tarmac.

  • The Returning Pilot: Dressed in a short leather flight jacket and channel flight trousers, this pilot stands with his arm raised, holding a Leuchtpistole (flare pistol). Flares were used for signaling and communication, especially when radio silence was necessary or communications failed.

  • The Ace on the Ground: The second pilot stands in a relaxed pose holding a coffee mug, dressed in the standard four-pocket service tunic and breeches. He wears the prestigious Knight's Cross (Ritterkreuz) at his throat, marking him as a highly decorated Experte or unit commander.

  • The Mascot: Adding a touch of life and character, a small terrier is sculpted jumping up at the ace's leg, excited by the activity.

Life in the Jagdgeschwader

This set highlights the different aspects of pilot attire found on a forward airfield.

  • Flight Gear vs. Service Dress: While one pilot is geared up for the cockpit in practical leather and zippers, the other wears the "Kleiner Rock" (service tunic). Pilots often wore the service uniform when on standby, performing administrative duties, or simply relaxing between alarms.

  • Visual Comms: The flare pistol was a vital tool for a pilot returning with a damaged radio or strictly enforcing silence, used to signal victory, fuel status, or wounded crew to the waiting ground staff.

Recommended for: 1/32 scale kits of the Bf 109, Fw 190, or Me 262.
